Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Nook mobile application (“App”). By downloading, accessing, or using Nook, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

The service
Nook is a household coordination app for tasks, shopping, plants, appliances, and related reminders. Some features are available on a free tier; features marked as Nook Premium require an active paid subscription purchased through Apple.
Accounts
- You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity under your account.
- You must be eligible to use App Store apps in your region and provide accurate account information.
- You may delete your account in Settings. Sole owners of shared households must transfer ownership before deletion.
Acceptable use
- Do not misuse the service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with other users, or upload unlawful content.
- You may only invite people who agree to join your household.
- Do not use the AI assistant to generate or seek unlawful, harmful, or abusive content.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of data you enter.
Subscriptions and payments
Nook offers:
- Free: core household tools with limits (including a cap on open tasks). Certain features — including Ask Nook AI, appliance tracking, inviting members to shared households, and multiple households — require Premium.
- Nook Premium: removes Free-tier limits and unlocks Premium features. Available as auto-renewable monthly or yearly subscriptions via the Apple App Store (product identifiers such as
com.getnookapp.app.premium.monthlyandcom.getnookapp.app.premium.yearly).
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-current rate.
- You can manage or cancel renewals in your Apple ID subscription settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you retain Premium access until then.
- Restore purchases is available in Nook Settings if you reinstall or switch devices.
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policies. We do not process subscription refunds directly. Request refunds through Apple (for example reportaproblem.apple.com) or as directed by Apple Support.
- Prices displayed in the App are set in App Store Connect and may vary by storefront/region. Apple’s terms apply to billing.
These Terms are in addition to the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement and App Store terms.
Household data
Content you add to a household may be visible to other members. When you leave or delete your account, some historical records (such as task completions) may remain with user identifiers removed for household continuity. See our Privacy Policy for retention details.
AI assistant
Ask Nook may generate suggestions based on household context. AI output can be incomplete or incorrect. You remain responsible for reviewing suggested actions before confirming changes to your household data.
Intellectual property
The App, including its design, branding, and software, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the App in accordance with these Terms. You retain rights to content you create in your household, subject to sharing with household members you invite.
Disclaimer of warranties
Nook is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI suggestions will be accurate.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
We are not responsible for service interruptions, data loss, or security incidents caused solely by third-party providers (including Supabase, OpenAI, and Apple), though we select reputable providers and remain responsible for our own obligations under applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory Czech or EU consumer law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
Changes
We may update these Terms. We will revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms, except where mandatory law requires your explicit consent.
Governing Law / Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence. Courts of the Czech Republic have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you may have to bring claims in your local courts.
